Let your summer wardrobe shine bright with sequins

Let your summer wardrobe shine bright with sequins

Unlike florals, sequins in spring are groundbreaking…well for SS18 anyway. Synonymous with Christmas party dresses, sequins have been softened for spring/summer. It makes sense that glittering embellishment should work so well for spring; after all doesn’t a sequin shimmer better in the sunshine? This trend is all about downplaying the intrinsic glam factor associated with sequins, so consider a move away from gold and red tones to more sugary, pinky, lighter tones. If you want to embrace the graceful prettiness of summer sequins, read on.

Shorts can be a difficult one to pull off (especially after a certain age) but this white sequin pair is cut just below the knee, lending them a more grown-up feel. With the longer length and subtle  sequins, these shorts are a perfect alternative to trousers for the office. Match with a T-shirt and this season’s on trend super blazer for a unique look.

This sequinned embellished kaftan should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. The simplicity of a sheer kaftan has been invigorated with a splash of sequins, and the result is a transitional piece that can be worn over a fifties-style swimsuit on the beaches of Ibiza or as an ideal summer cover-up on a city break.

There are multiple ways of teaming up this gorgeous sequinned top with pieces from your wardrobe. What better way to bring an edge to your skinny jeans then matching with a dazzle of silver? Or bring your midi into the warmer months by ditching the spring knit for this sleeveless sequin turtleneck.

Rainbow tinted sequins reign supreme this spring. If you adore this Rixo blouse as much as we do, then note to self; it also comes in a dress.

Incorporating sequins into your outerwear is a fun way to inject a bit of glamour into your spring wardrobe, without being too chintzy. I love the scattering of florals thrown into the mix.

Muted hues add the midas touch to SS sequins. The bubble gum tones of this skirt, sprinkled with a brilliance of sequins, exude femininity. This skirt is sure to sparkle bright in the sunlight.
