These are 10 pieces you need to buy from the H&M Studio Collection

The AW19 H&M Studio Collection is on sale from tomorrow and we've broken it down for you by picking 10 of the pieces you need to buy now.

H&M is a high-street staple. From basics to more unique pieces, it often manages to blur the two. In 2004, it began its highly successful and lucrative series of designer collaborations. It started with Karl Lagerfeld and most recently Giambatista Valli was a design partner.

Many may forget that in-house H&M creates beautiful collections each year outside of the main clothing line. The H&M Studio Collection is a blend of high quality yet on-trend creations. The designers take the main trends of the season but make them wearable for the everyday customer.

The SS19 Studio Collection was a homage to a glamorous female explorer and for AW the creative team has expanded this idea and designed pieces for the strong, confident and unafraid woman.

Glamour and wearability

The collection is a mix of glamour and wearability. Sequins take their place next to statement knits. Bright and bold yellow pops next to neutral hues. While hand-drawn prints and stripes give a lovely visual difference to the classic designs. There are tailored blazers and coats for the woman who likes to look and feel in control, but there are also beautifully relaxed shapes which will appeal to those who like volume and unexpected shapes.

For those who love the ease of a dress, the gold satin midi is a wondrous choice; ideal for an autumn wedding and when worn over a black polo knit and knee-high boots it is a skilful office outfit. Leather also comes in many forms. The long leather shirt is sure to be a hit, while the tailored trousers will most definitely achieve a sufficient cost-per-wear ratio. Knitwear is an AW staple and the collection does not disappoint. The alpaca blend jumper is quintessentially chic but the fringe detail and longer length provides a pivotal point of difference.

Unfortunately, the collection is not available in Irish stores but will be there for us to purchase online from tomorrow.
