Sandra Bullock Responds To People Who Say She Isn’t A ‘Real’ Mother

Actress and Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock has decided to speak out against people who try and belittle her status of being a mother, on the basis that she adopted her son Louis and isn’t his ‘natural’ mother.?Bullock took to Facebook to share the pain such dismissive insensitivity evokes in her. In the emotive post, accompanied with a beautiful photo of her with her son as a baby, the Gravity actress wrote:

?I’m tired of hearing from everyone that he is not my child, that he is not my blood. That I am a so-called “Adoptive Mother?. I am a Mother. I need no other label or prefix.

I know I’ve adopted him and I am proud of it. He may not have my eyes, he may not have my smile, he may not have my skin tone, but he has all my heart.A mother is a person who raises, loves and provides for the child. Bullock became a mother in 2010, when she adopted Louis Bardo Bullock earlier that year. She initially began the adoption process years earlier with her now ex-husband Jesse James, but when that marriage fell apart earlier that year, she continued the official application as a single parent. Louis is now 5-years-old and often spotted on-set with his mother and on normal day-to-day outings.

Here’s the post in its entirety. Sandra has asked other adoptive parents to share the post with photos of their children in a bid to remove the needless stigma some people promote with needling comments.
