Our Panellists

Louise Stokes

Founder, Loulerie

After graduating from Trinity College, Louise worked as an intern during show season with Alexis Bittar in New York. Watching a world-renowned designer present his collection to the best buyers in the business was her tipping point and New York became home for much of her early twenties. Working for leading design houses that created fine jewellery for every calibre of clients from Bloomingdales to Helzberg Diamonds, gave Louise fresh insights. Jewellery was personal and every piece reflected an idea or style that started from a sketch. Every stunning collection of iconic fine jewellery she encountered made her appreciate the emotional value attached to what we wear. Observing the experimental style of Parisian women who pair silk scarves with black diamonds and attending Paris Fashion Week over the years were other sources of inspiration.

Louise returned to Ireland opening Loulerie in 2007 to bring her style influences to a new audience. Never one to compromise on quality, she takes pride in every element of her fine jewellery. Only the best gold is selected and all diamonds are hand sorted and sourced from De Beers Sightholders to ensure their ethical origins.Louise’s passion for high quality, refined collections with a sense of individuality is evident in her own Loulerie line of elegant grey sapphire, gold, black and white diamond jewellery

Andrea Horan

Madame at Tropical Popical and activist

Andrea Horan is an entrepreneur; a communicator; a glitter activist and sometimes drag queen. Following 10 glorious years spent in Youth Communications Agency Thinkhouse, she did a pivot and founded Tropical Popical nail bar in 2012. Tropical Popical has provided her with the platform to flex her interest in art with collaborations with the RHA and the National Gallery of Ireland as well as create little bits of magic on clients talons and toes. It’s also allowed her to do the type of work that’s most important to her and that she most enjoys – meeting locals within a kitsch & creative space. Andrea celebrates her belief in the three F’s – feminism, femininity and fun – through Tropical Popical and her not-for-profit venture The Hunreal Issues. Established to try and mobilise the army of women who felt apathetic towards politics in general and reproductive rights in particular. Andrea currently has a TV show and festival in development.

Blossom is a luxury flower brand specializing in classic; feminine and elegant designs in a palette of soft pastel shades. Blossom HQ is based in the heart of Ballsbridge and with the flower studio in Rathfarnham, we deliver across Dublin City daily. They have big things planned for 2018.
