Creativity with a side of craft beer: this week’s guide to What’s On

The weather may have tried to push us back to winter, but Dublin is soldiering on with a spring in its step this weekend. From sustainable swap shops to a whole bake sale dedicated to sweet treats, this weekend’s weather won’t dampen any spirits. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

All weekend: Get creatively inspired at OFFSET Dublin

Whether you’re a student, a professional or just someone who absolutely loves design, OFFSET should be first on your agenda this weekend. While you can expect to find smaller events taking place all around Dublin this weekend, the real action takes place in the Point Square, with presentations, debates, workshops and Q&A’s from 100+ speakers all taking place over the weekend. This is OFFSET’s tenth year in the city, so it will absolutely be one to remember. Festivities kicked off today, but grab a day ticket for Saturday or Sunday to join in.

Saturday: Relax at the Craft Beer Celebration at the Beer Market

If you’re a lover of craft beer, then I bet you’ll have frequented the Beer Market in Christchurch many a time before this weekend. Head back to the well-stocked spot on Saturday to their Craft Beer Celebration, in honour of adding Hopfully beers to their extensive lineup. You can expect discussions, food pairings, spot prizes, free samples and live music all on the night — pretty good for a Saturday night in a great haunt.

Saturday and Sunday: Go to heaven at Bakeyard at the Bernard Shaw

Do you love cakes, pastries, donuts and churros? What a stupid question, of course you do. The good news is that the famous Eatyard is turning its hand to the world of baking this weekend, and Bakeyard will be taking over. Featuring afternoon tea, Baker’s Bingo, Drip & Doughnuts, cake decorating demos and Bakes & Bubbles, this is the absolute best place to be to stuff your face this weekend. Sweetest of all? It’s absolutely free (but do yourself a favour and grab the €10 ticket — it’ll guarantee entry, and some bakes & bubbles too).

Sunday: Reuse, recycle at Sustainable Fashion Dublin’s Swap Shop + Q&A with sustainable fashion designers

We’re big lovers of what Sustainable Fashion Dublin are doing around the city to promote more mindful shopping, and this weekend sees another of their brilliant events taking place. Combining the ever-popular swap shop with an exclusive Q&A session with designers Jill Deering & Gillian Henderson of Jill & Gill, and Síofra Caherty of Jump The Hedges, the day is a dream for Dublin’s slow fashion lovers. Word on the street is that it’s almost sold out, so get in there quick to grab a ticket.
