Ever wanted to get painted by Maser? Here’s your chance. Renowned International (Irish) visual artist Maser returned home for his last solo show of the year this week. As part of the exhibition, he’ll be making a stop in MOTHER tonight for a one-off dance, music, and art collaboration with – you guessed it – UV body paint. Speaking about the event Maser said he’s inviting?the spectator “escape the ordinary”. Doors for the Mother x Maser UV collaboration party open at 11pm and this is a strictly over 21s event. Maser’s solo exhibition “Foreign Language” will be open to the public at the?Graphic Studio Gallery?from November 11th until December?3rd. For more info click here.

See more than 200 national and internationally acclaimed films at Ireland’s oldest film festival – The Cork Film Festival – ?running from Nov 11th-20th. This year the festival will screen 39 Irish short films; one-quarter of which are from Cork. Submissions this year exceeded 1,500 and the winner of the Grand Prix Irish Short, presented by?RT? Cork, and the winner of the Grand Prix International will automatically qualify for the Academy Awards? longlist.?The Festival’s major Irish films include thriller?I Am Not a Serial Killer?at The Everyman on 17 November from Irish producer Nick Ryan (director,?The Summit) and Cork native writer/director Billy O’Brien; along with?Forever Pure?on 18 November, a feature documentary about the most symbolic football club in Israel, Beitar Jerusalem. Special screenings this year include Kelly Reichardt’s Montana drama?Certain Women?which won the best picture prize at the recent London Film Festival. Irish artist Siobh?n Hapaska will hold a free exhibition of her latest work this weekend at the Kerlin Gallery, located on South Anne Street. Siobh?n masterfully combines natural materials – like trees or even macabre skulls – with synthetic materials and skillfully joins them up using?cultural symbols belonging to all sorts of different creeds and communities.?Her sculptural works are nothing short of captivating, and this exhibition at the Kerlin gallery will be the perfect excuse to get acquainted with her work. You could spend hours studying the walls, and her work will really make you stop, think, and look harder. Siobh?n’s free exhibition will take place until nex Saturday, November 19th.
