What To Do Today: Your IMAGE Guide To The Weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Celebrate local pride, explore the cuisine of south Dublin, and browse through local’markets. Happy weekend from Image!

Enjoy Your Pride Of Place Here

The Stoneybatter festival will take this weekend in the heart of Dublin 7. Now in the second year, The Pride Of Place Stoneybatter Festival is all about togetherness and community spirit and came about after Stoneybatter was awarded the All-Ireland Best Urban Heritage Village Title in 2016. Today and tomorrow from 11 am, local businesses, museums, churches, and private homes will be open to the public. Expect local cuisine, plenty of entertainment, free concerts, ?and lots of craic. AND there’s even a pet-friendly area. Almost all events are free – bar one or two gigs – so make sure to bring the kids or grab some friends! More info here.

Join The Hun Revolution Here (Over Brunch)

The Hunreal Issues, a platform dedicated to making politics and social issues more accessible to a wider audience, are going for?Sunday brunch?in cities across Ireland with Snapchat Superstar?James Kavanagh; comedian?Joanne McNally,?#FineAssFeminists and podcasters? It Galz?and Tropical Popical’s?Andrea Horan.??Over eggs and bubbles, the ensemble will talk to glam gals (and guys) around the country about the reasons why we need to Repeal The 8th. The first stop on the road show is?The?Electric Garden & Theatre in Galway next Saturday, July 2nd, but don’t worry if you can’t make it because the road show will be stopping off at these glam locations over the coming weeks and months:

?Cork: ?23rd July, Soho (James Kavanagh, ItGalz, Andrea Horan)

?Limerick: ?13th?Aug, House (James Kavanagh, Andrea Horan & more tba)

?Dublin:?27th?Aug, The Blueroom at The Dean?(James Kavanagh, Andrea Horan & more tba)

The tour is targeted at the fabulous stun huns of the beauty industry and the concept is loosely based on the Illinois law that requires all?cosmetologists?to undergo training to spot signs of domestic violence because of the close relationship most clients have with their beauty practitioner and how comfortable they feel confiding in them.? The Hunreal Issues wants to share information, stories and facts on the negative impact the 8th?Amendment has on the women of Ireland and their lives.

Celebrate Brazil Here

June and July are festive months in Brazil. Throughout the country, festivals are made to celebrate saints and new plantation seasons, following a tradition that started in Europe even before Brazil was discovered. In celebration of our growing Brazilian communities here, ?Festa Junina will be celebrated in style tomorrow, Sunday, June 25th, at Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre. Expect traditional cuisine, lively entertainment, fancy dress (traditional style!), and lots of fun for the family. The festivities kick off at 1 PM and door tax is €5 before 5 PM and €7 after, while children go free.?Oi pesso?!

Enjoy The Flavours Of South Dublin Here

Flavours of South Dublin Food Festival is a unique food festival that will showcase the very best cuisine from the locality and aims to highlight the diversity and vibrancy of the food culture in the county. Taking place tomorrow in?Rathfarnham Castle Park, the festival will bring together wonderful restaurants, eateries, and suppliers, with cultural elements and crafts also on display. Enjoy?A Saunter Around The Flea Here

Spend a lazy Sunday afternoon browsing through?a bizarre bazaar of vintage clothing, bric-a-brac and what nots at the Dublin Flea Market on the square at Newmarket, Dublin 8. Organisers ask that you please come by?foot, bike or bus – less fumes, less parking stress, more fun.?Family and pet-friendly! From 11 AM to 5 PM.
