Ballet Across the Rooftops of Paris

ballet dancers on rooftop

While Paris copes with the unrolling tragedy that this week’s terrorist attacks has?wrought, this video from Nowness and Paris Opera Ballet director Benjamin Millepied, Mr. Natalie Portman when he’s at home, reminds us of the beauty of the famous city, and humanity in general.

Dancers from the ballet company race across the rooftops of the capital, an orange sun showcasing the iconic Eiffel Tower. The whole video is like watching a dream unfold. Electronic music builds up, backstage scenes are cast in an eerie lilac glow, historical buildings come to life in the dawn as two dancers race along the Parisian skyline.

And who said ballet was boring?
