Veuve Clicquot Toast Women in Business

It was an elegant evening of champagne, canap's and catch-ups as some of Ireland's smartest women gathered in the luxurious Dublin residence of the French Ambassador Emmanuelle d'Achon for the announcement of the 2013 Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year. Guests sipped tall flutes of Veuve Clicquot champagne while tucking into a feast of canap's prepared by Neil Shirt Catering, including crab, mint and sweet pea tartine, beef carpaccio with rocket and Parmesan, and chargrilled asparagus with air-dried ham, finished off with a rich chocolate and hazelnut tart topped with 24 carat gold leaf and beautiful macaroons. It was then time for everyone to take their seats for the presentation of the award. Claire Byrne spoke eloquently about women in business before Fabrice Ogier, business development manager for Veuve Clicquot Europe, announced this year's winner: Anna May McHugh, managing director of the National Ploughing Association. After hearing about her magnificent achievements in her 60-year career, all agreed she was a worthy recipient.
