Taylor Swift Did The Loveliest Thing For A Fan Who Will Lose Her Hearing

Readers will know by now that here at IMAGE, we’re serious Taylor Swift fans. And by serious, we mean we know all the lyrics by heart and have gleefully ventured to her concerts.

However, as much as we love her musical oeuvre, what gets us even more is her unfailingly kind and charitable nature. When it comes to her fans, Ms Swift knows how to give back to those that have aided her rise to superstardom. She values her loyal fanbase, thus proved by her generous gestures in months gone by. The list is almost endless: she’s paid off college loans, flew a fan to Dublin to see her concert, donated $50,000 to another battling cancer and posts genuine, emotive messages?to make her devoted followers feel better. Again, she has proven she is a contender for the Sweetest Celebrity of the Year Award with her latest heartwarming deed.

The singer went out of her way to ensure 12-year-old Australian fan Jorja Hope – who was sadly diagnosed with a condition that will eventually mean she will go deaf – got to attend her concert and meet Swift herself. When the young fan developed the condition that causes progressive, inner-ear hearing loss, the first thing she said was: “I won’t be able to hear Taylor Swift sing,? and this prompted her family to make sure this wasn’t the case. ?Pass the tissues.

It happened tonight Jorja met Taylor! Chloe you did it!!! You gave your sister the ultimate gift! Taylor gave Jorja a massive hug! Photo to come when available for now here are some of Jorja at the concert!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, her twin sister Chloe, started a Facebook group and an online campaign, which was then noticed by a Sydney radio station. And this story has a happy ending because the youngster not only got the chance see her idol perform live in concert on Saturday night – but she also got to meet her.

Both Jorja and her family were understandably thrilled as she has been through a lot. “Things like this happen to other people, not to people like us,” Jorja’s mother, Melissa, told Australia’s Today Show. “It’s been a fairytale.”

“Jorja has battled her whole life from being born with growth problems, to surgeries on her ears already and five surgeries for broken bones. She is a fighter. No matter what happens, she smiles and keeps going,” she continued.

This delighted fan will have memories to look back on and cherish forever, and had this to say after she met the star,

?She was very, very amazing and very pretty. I didn’t expect her to be as tall as she was.” ?Awwww.
