IMAGE Magazine and Boots teamed up last Thursday and Saturday for an outstanding weekend of beauty excitement, expertise and insider tips.?Combining the hottest talent in the business, with plenty of special guests and generous hospitality, we had a weekend of beauty-packed, selfie-snapping fun as we deep-dived into everything the world’s of hair, fragrance, skincare, suncare and cosmetics have to offer.
Over Thursday evening, July 13 and all day Saturday, July 15, Boots, in association with IMAGE Magazine, presented a calendar of drop-in sessions, interviews, makeovers and meet and greets.
On Thursday,?IMAGE digital director and make-up artist Ellie Balfe, and beauty influencer Tara O?Farrell joined forces for an interactive beauty workshop that was all about the glow. We discovered how the right skincare and preparation form the basis for perfect summer make-up looks. We then learned about selecting the right foundation, concealing, revealing and highlighting to maximise glowing summer skin.

Cocoa Brown’s Marissa Carter took to the stage with IMAGE Editor In Chief Melanie Morris next for a masterclass in perfect, safe, streak-free self-tanning. She shared expert tips on application, exfoliation and great fading, plus some smart tricks such as tan-touring, highlighting and the slimming effects of shimmer and tan-tone. The session highlighted the best of all Boots has to offer in this massively popular beauty category and there was plenty of time for questions and selfies.

Finally on Thursday, Jennifer Rock (aka The Skin Nerd) took to the stage and demystified skincare as she covered the steps, the order, the application and the cleansing thereof. Incorporating just the right amount of user-friendly science, she cut through fads to select the heroes that should be on our bathroom shelves. And as summer temperatures soar, she also outlined the pillars of smart suncare.

On Saturday afternoon we kicked off again with Melanie Morris in conversation with holistic therapist and skincare expert Elizabeth Whelan of Zestivo?for a workshop that covers skin heroes, nutrition, personal development and loads of easy-to-adopt, bright ideas to make the rest of your life the best of your life.

Up next, beauty guru and digital influencer Alessandra Steinherr joined us. she’s been at every fashion-forward front row, granted access all areas to see the world’s hair and beauty heroes at work, and she’s tried skincare, make-up and beauty gadgets sourced from all over the world. Alessandra chatted with IMAGE editor-in- chief Melanie Morris about her favourite products, key looks, expressions and trends and how to incorporate them into real life.

Finally, IMAGE digital director Ellie Balfe lead an interactive workshop with make-up artist Ken Boylan as he demonstrated some perfect Saturday night looks. Over the course of the session, Ken shared his make- up bag must-haves and ‘step-by-step instructions on nailing techniques such as the smoky eye, the perfect lip, winged liner? and how to master all.
