We’re always looking out for the next big thing. In music (well, Ireland specifically), we’re pretty certain Gavin James is about to break into the big leagues. In the world of fashion and modelling, it’s all about the Hadid sisters. As for movies, it looks like the Emma Watsons of this world will soon be welcoming Downton Abbey star Lily James into their gang. Could Lily, who plays the ever-so-bold Lady Rose be the first major break-out star from Britain’s favourite period drama? Looks likely.

Lily James stars as the eponymous Cinderella in the live action movie helmed by Irish directing virtuoso Kenneth Brannagh, that hits Irish cinemas next month. If this major role opposite none other than Cate Blanchett doesn’t quite cut the mustard, perhaps her role alongside Jamie Dornan and?Bradley Cooper in the as yet untitled chef movie will do the trick. At just 25 years of age, the world is about to become Lily’s oyster.

Above we take a look at some of her red carpet appearances (girlfriend’s got style), and below, some choice quotes from her exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

How did you get the role of Cinderella?
It was the longest and most intense audition process I’ve done. I went in for one of the sisters, but I had dyed my hair blond for?Downton, so they said I should read for Cinderella. I did loads of rounds, did screen tests with live mice and met with Ken to talk about his vision.

Now that you’re in a big Disney movie, have you had a Hollywood moment?
My WhatsApp on my phone is going crazy because there’s a huge poster on Sunset Boulevard of me. It’s massive. All my friends in L.A. are messaging me pictures or videos as they pass it. It’s so surreal.
