IFTAs 2015: The Winners & Photos

Though the pre-event promotion was rather thin on the ground this year, perhaps given that they’ve now split the IFTAs in two, last night’s telly awards went down a storm. For the first time since Love/Hate came barreling onto our screens, only to scoop every award imaginable, it was time for another Irish production to reign supreme. Of course it’s not that Love/Hate lost out, it’s just that it’s finished. Excuse us while we shed a tear. Last night it was all about new TV3’soap drama Red Rock, who brought home gongs for best ‘Soap or continuing drama’, best director and the people’s choice award. Elsewhere, the man behind the head-scratchingly, internationally successful Mrs Brown’s Boys (sorry, we just don’t get it), Brendan O’Carroll, received a standing ovation as he collected his Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to him by none other than Uncle Gaybo, the grandfather of Irish TV.

It was great to see Sharon Horgan awarded for her brilliant writing in Catastrophe, in which she stars alongside Twitter’s funniest man, Rob Delaney. Scan the full list of winners below and browse our gallery of red carpet appearances above!
