Dublin Fringe Festival Launch

  • by IMAGE

The Dublin Fringe Festival Programme launched this Tuesday with a major bash in the brand new The Liquor Rooms, formerly known as The Kitchen. A sweaty throng of theatre-practitioners, writers, producers, actors and general bon-vivants gathered in the cleverly redecorated rooms, which began to resemble an illegal speakeasy as the crowd swelled and the temperature rose. We enjoyed the heat. Roise Goan, now in her fifth and final year of running the festival, announced with characteristic enthusiasm her confidence in the programme for this year. Among the highlights are Aisling Bea's hit-show C?est La Bea, ANU Productions'?Thirteen, Dead Centre's Lippy,?Collapsing Horse's Distance From The Event, and the return of the all-male burlesque troupe?Briefs. It is undoubtedly one of the strongest programmes the Festival has ever produced, and we look forward to its madness in the coming weeks.
