Deadly Women To Check Out This Science Week

Science Week is taking place now between the 13th and the 20th of November, with more than 800 events?taking place over Ireland, from the science of coffee, to foraging and fermentation and the chemistry of cooking. There are some deadly women involved in Science Week this year – here are some you shouldn’t miss.

The Sum of All Parts by Angela Gilmour looks at the hidden architecture within scientific instrumentation and the intricate mechanisms that record our surroundings which promote the bringing together of all parts Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Comprising of science-influenced art installations that consist of deconstructed instrumentation, selected from a variety of time periods, and will in particular link with physics, maths, and technology.

Ladies of Science?is set in Ireland and tells the true story of two remarkable women,?Lady Mary Rosse?and?Mary Ward, who had a passion for science and technology, including photography, astronomy, microscopy, illustrations, architecture, all during a time (1850’s) when women were not admitted to universities.
