Rising Star: Why You Should Get Familiar With Irish Actress Ruth Kearney

Have you heard of Irish actress Ruth Kearney? We weren’t overly familiar with her name, but we’re about to be. We’re going to go right ahead and predict that she will be the next big thing and certainly one to watch as a rising Irish star. Born in Dublin and attending St Andrew’s College, Kearney, 27, has just landed a role opposite the hilarious Will Arnett of Arrested Development fame in a Netflix original comedy series called Flaked.

Set in Venice Beach, LA, Flaked centres around Will’s character, a recovering addict who’s turning a new leaf as a furniture restorer. He then meets Ruth’s character, London, a waitress who embroils Arnett in a complicated love triangle, and from there we can expect all kinds of hilarity – with an added dose of drama – to ensue.

Kearney enjoyed her big break of sorts back in 2011 when she was cast in The Following opposite Kevin Bacon, however given the worldwide acclaim of anything that Netflix creates themselves, and the fact that the creators of Arrested Development are involved in the script writing, we reckon it will be this comedy series that really puts her on the map.
