Blake Lively Was Not Gossip Girl’s Biggest Fan

Blake Lively Was Not Gossip Girl’s Biggest Fan

Blake Lively is enjoying a spectacular red carpet run these days and this Gucci number seems to suggest a colour trend

Gossip Girl is one of our Netflix guilty pleasures, but it seems one of its leading ladies wasn’t the biggest fan of this fictional tale of well-dressed Manhattan brats on Blackberry devices.

Blake Lively launched her career as Serena van der Woodsen in the hit series but is a little bit uncomfortable about aspects of the show that made her name. In an interview with Glamour UK, she said, “People loved it, but it always felt a little personally compromising?you want to be putting a better message out there.” While the show depicted the emotional up and downs of young adulthood, it was set in a monied world where the everyday struggles people were facing during the real-world recession did not get a look-in.

When parents would say, ‘My teenager is watching your show,’ I wanted to say, ‘Hold on, why? Are you having a talk with them after?’ From the drug use to the point where we’re killing people, it’s sexual and salacious,” Blake said.

However, Blake wasn’t completely negative about the hugely successful show. One thing she did say the show excelled in was its depiction of a true friendship between Serena and Blair Waldorf. “I loved it when they put Blair and Serena as best friends supporting each other,” she said of their scenes together. We did too. Although about 50% of that was ?Oh my god look at their clothes/prize-winning pony hair? with the rest being all warm and fuzzy female empowerment feelings.

In further Blake news, the actress and IMAGE magazine’s current cover star is causing a beauty news stir after she dyed her trademark blonde locks. She is now a self-described ?bronde? with a hint of a brunette if you squint at the Instagram she shared above. We have to say, we approve. Blake played with contrasting highlights during the later stages of her pregnancy last winter and looked pretty incredible for a woman who was undoubtedly wrecked.

What are your thoughts on the new hair?
