Whiskey, rainbows and wellness – What’s On this weekend

I feel like a wonderfully broken record with how much I’m writing about sun and warm weather these past few weeks. Summer 2018 has been a beaut so far, and it’s only going to get better. This week sees the culmination of Pride celebrations, which will take over Dublin city with rainbows and good vibes. If your weekend isn’t full enough, there are plenty of (mostly musical) events in the city to boost your mood. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

On Friday: Celebrate with a whiskey at Dublin Rising | The Music Edition

After a few years of building up its reputation as a gorgeous new Dublin whiskey, Teelings are celebrating the ‘coming-of-age’ of their Dublin 8 distillery and the upcoming launch of their Single Pot Still whiskey later this year; the first Dublin Distilled whiskey to launch in over 40 years. The event kicks off at 7 pm with some of Ireland’s brightest new musical talents, including David Keenan, AE MAK and Erica Cody. Tickets start at €15 with all proceeds going to local charities.

On Saturday: March through the streets for the Dublin Pride Parade

 

After a week of fun-filled events around the city to celebrate Pride, it all comes together in the biggest soiree of the weekend; the Pride Parade. Assembling at noon at St. Stephen’s Green and walking down towards Smithfield, the parade is always filled with flags, frills, colour and joy. Get down there early to soak it all up.

 

On Sunday: Get some self-care at Live Well Dublin 2018

While wellness has become such a global trend, it’s nice to bring it back down to grassroots level. Live Well Dublin is full of local proprietors of food, fitness, mindfulness and more, and the entire event is centred around fun, easy ways to live better.  Including yoga, vegan food tasting, meditation and dancing, all just down at the Grand Canal.
