The 2017 BAFTA Nominations Are In

Award season is in full swing; we’re still loving Meryl Streep’s epic anti-Trump, fist-pumping speech from the Golden Globes and now we move swiftly onto the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award nominations. Having dominated Sunday night with seven wins, La La Land?has been nominated in 11 categories in this year’s BAFTAs.

Other films in the running are the usual suspects thus far:?Arrival, Nocturnal Animals (both with nine nominations)?I, Daniel Blake, Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight.

Irish actress Ruth Negga missed out on a main category lead actress nomination this time around – Amy Adams (Arrival), Natalie Portman (Jackie), Emma Stone (La La Land), Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins) and Emily Blunt (The Girl on the Train) pipped her to the post – but she was nominated for the EE Rising Star award, which is voted for by the public.
