Last Christmas premiere screening in Ireland
See who attended the Irish premiere of Universal Pictures’ new film ‘Last Christmas’
On Wednesday night, film lovers arrived at the Light House Cinema for the Irish premiere screening of Last Christmas.
Universal Pictures transformed the venue into a festive winter wonderland, complete with a pink carpet and artificial snow. Some of the guests in attendance included models Lynn Kelly and Irma Mali, designer Helen James, wellness coach & author Alison Canavan, and stylist Rozanne Parker.
Also in attendance were TV presenters Nadine Reid and Jenny Buckley, journalist Niamh Devereux and friend Mary Gray, as well as Irish influencers Rachel Purcell, Ciara Doherty, Ellie Kelly and Dearbhla Toal.
Last Christmas stars Emilia Clarke (of Game of Thrones fame), Henry Golding (of Crazy Rich Asians), Michelle Yeoh (also of Crazy Rich Asians), and Emma Thompson (of Nanny McPhee and Love Actually, to name but two of her works).
The romantic comedy is directed by Paul Feig (behind Bridesmaids) and boasts a screenplay by Emma Thompson and playwright Bryony Kimmings.
The film shows Kate (played by Emilia Clarke) as she harumphs around London, a bundle of bad decisions accompanied by the jangle of bells on her shoes (another irritating consequence from her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop).
Tom (who is played by Henry Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you’ve got to let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart … and you gotta have faith.
Last Christmas features the music of George Michael, including the bittersweet holiday classic of the film’s title.
