Entrepreneur and former RTÉ Washington Correspondent Mark Little launched Caitríona Perry’s new book, In America: Tales from Trump Country, on Wednesday night, 1st of November at Cliff Townhouse, St. Stephens Green.

In her first book, RTÉ’s current Washington Correspondent Caitríona Perry goes beyond the news reports and delves into the American heartland where she witnessed the rise of President Trump at first hand. Bringing to the table the voices of those who voted for Trump, Hillary Clinton’s so-called ‘basket of deplorables’, the ones whose opinions didn’t coalesce with acceptable mainstream discourse, the book reveals just what is really happening in America right now. It is the story of the women of America, of the workers of the industrial heartland, of the people of the Rust Belt Region, of immigrant communities. It is the story of the people whose vote shook the world.

In America is out now, published by Gill Books and priced at €24.99.
