Photos: The Critics’ Choice Awards 2016

Another weekend, another glamorous red carpet, packed to the brim with painfully beautiful and exceptionally talented celebrities. This time around, it was the Critics’ Choice Awards, which – much like the Globes – celebrate the best of film and TV from the year that’s been. Taking the reins entirely was Mad Max: Fury Road, which took home nine individual gongs, including best director for George Miller. Lenny Abrahamson’s Room was once again acknowledged with both Brie Larson winning the best actress award and Jacob Tremblay finally receiving the credit he deserves in the Best Young Actor/Actress category. If you’ve yet to watch this film, stop what you’re doing and go; Tremblay is a joy to behold.

Over in the land of TV, it was a big night for Fargo, with Kirsten Dunst scooping the best actress award, Jesse Plemons and Jean Smart both earning themselves a Best Supporting Actor/Actress hat tip and the show itself taking home the award for ‘Best Movie Made For Television Or Mini-Series’.
