Jo’s girl about town: May issue edition

Hey friends! How are we? So much to catch up on – namely the incredible YES weekend just passed. I celebrated in cork at the Villagers gig in the Opera House. Conor’s music has always championed the plight of gay issues and social imbalance, so suffice to say it was an emotional night but a great one. If you haven’t downloaded Darling Arithmetic yet, do it NOW and get ready to have your soul massaged.

There is a new Afternoon Tea in town and it’s fabulous. Anyone who has been to the iconic Shelbourne Hotel on St Stephen’s Green (or watched the RTE series about the hotel for that matter) will know that Grace Kelly famously stayed at the 5 star back in the day. They dedicated their Presidential Suite to her and the rest is history. I went along to take a sneak peek at the original dress of hers that they have on display in the foyer (it’s incredible) and to savour their new afternoon tea and spa treatments dedicated to the princess. It’s definitely royalty worthy, with sweet treats designed as her favourite accessories and a taster menu of spa treatments to match. My trip to Belfast was a hoot. I’m currently catching up with the rest of the world and watching The fall so that definitely helped get me excited for the trip but it was genuinely one of the best weekends ice had in a ling time. There is SO much going on in the city. Check out my guide here.

I had the pleasure of being whisked away to a VIP COS dinner last week, celebrating their one year anniversary in Ireland. We were driven to a house in a forest where we were served a menu of Katie Sanderson’s fare. It was otherworldly and Im still dreaming about it. Can you believe people live in a house like this? Damn.
