You may be under the impression that every day is Ladies Day lately what with the rush of race days all over the country, and we suppose if you’re the type to wear a fascinator to the local shops then you keep doing you. However! Tomorrow marks the Ladies Day to rule them all as Dublin Horse Show brings the glamour. We’re spending our evening in the No. 27 Bar in the Shelbourne after placing a few punt on some races in the RDS where the Shelbourne’s Most Stylish Lady competition will be kicking off from 6.30pm in association with IMAGE magazine. Irish Designer Helen Cody will be there to judge the winner and the ten Most Stylish finalists, alongside Melanie Morris, IMAGE editor-in-chief, and Marietta Doran, super-stylist and the Shelbourne’s acting Style Butler.
Among the treasure trove of prizes are subscriptions to IMAGE magazine, products from The Spa at The Shelbourne, and jewellery from Loulerie. The Best Dressed Lady will win a gloriously luxurious prize of two nights in The Shelbourne’s chic Princess Grace Suite and two nights in the stylish Renaissance Le Parc Trocad?ro Hotel, a short stroll from the Champs-?lys?es in Paris!
Entrants just need to show up looking fabulous tomorrow evening to be in with a chance to win. However when it comes to getting that winning edge might we suggest carving Melanie Morris advice across your heart? Melanie sat us down and told us that getting those two nights in Paris are actually down to being yourself, ?I think what really gives a woman the leading edge when it comes to winning a Most Stylish Lady competition is a bit of restraint. It’s finding the one key piece you want to highlight – hat, dress, bag… whatever, and then going calm with the rest of the outfit. And while it’s a cliche, those who dress to reflect their personalities always have an edge, because no particular style wins, it really is all about the woman and she’s the one who makes the whole look comes together.?
Make sure to trot along tomorrow.
