Enchanted Lights: a free, must-see spectacle for families this season

Enjoy an evening of magical lights and animation with this free, family-friendly event

‘Tis the season for creating magical memories with your loved ones – and this visual experience at Kildare Village is the perfect place to do that.

Enchanted Lights is a spellbinding extravaganza created by the Dublin-based creative studio, Algorithm. Not only is it an immersive show of colour, light and sound, but it is also completely free of charge.

Running daily from 4 pm, the village comes alive with a series of three unique light shows across three different locations. As it takes place every 10 minutes, families can enjoy it again and again.

“It’s bright. It’s brilliant. It’s a spectacular light show not to be missed,” says the team at Kildare Village.

A sea of lights

Algorithm, the creative team behind the spectacle, say the interactive light installations were “dreamt up for the whole family”. It’s the team’s most expansive set of installations to date. But how does it work?

According to the creators, a sea of 10,000 LEDs reacts to the slightest gesture on an outdoor touchscreen, immersing the spectator in waves of light and colour.

What’s more, a ‘Geometric Tunnel’ reacts to passers-by, generating sound and visual patterns. Factoring in a series of beautiful animation, visitors will be awe-struck.

Enchanted Lights at Kildare Village runs throughout the entire festive season, every 10 minutes from 4 pm daily.
