Bathrooms we love from 2018 issues of Image Interiors & Living

My bathroom is my sanctuary, a space where I go to soak in a steaming hot bath or a shower to wake me up for the day ahead. It is also a place where (and I know I’m not alone in this) I can hide from my kids and recharge my batteries. Whether your bathroom is on the small side or a fit for a queen, make sure it is a room you like to spend time in. Below is a roundup of some of my favourite bathrooms that got a spot in our pages during 2018. The bathrooms are all very different, each one special in its own way.

A meat storage room becomes a beautiful bathroom (the original meat hooks are still evident in the ceiling) in our July/August issue. The door which once had ventilation holes in it has been filled with champagne corks for a small but very functional space.

This modern bathroom, from our September/October issue, is warmed up with rustic elements such as baskets and antique stools.

The bath in this Sligo home from our September/October issue is modelled on Japanese baths. The simple, contemporary colours and contrasting textures create an atmosphere of relaxation and serenity.

The shower in this Suzie McAdam-designed Dublin home from our May/June issue has some incredible artwork from an old master printed onto the tiles, having a dramatic impact in the bathroom.

If you love nostalgia this bathroom is a dream. The shower tray, that looks like an old galvanised barrel was made by a friend of the owners of this July/August house feature.

The placement of tiles is fun and the detail of a little cubby-hole for your shampoo is really handy. It’s from a Roisin Lafferty project in our November/December issue.

I’ll be rounding up the rest of my favourite kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and dining rooms over the holiday period so keep an eye out!
