Avoca and IMAGE celebrate an evening of fashion and food at new Ballsbridge store

We all know that Avoca is a destination for food-lovers everywhere, but Tuesday night’s Avoca event in partnership with IMAGE proved that it will soon be a destination for fashion lovers also. The magical evening in the gorgeous surrounds of the new store’s Fodder restaurant celebrated the quality and sheer fabulousness of the brand’s fashion and food offering as guests were treated to an exclusive showing of Avoca’s SS19 collection as well as insights from the company’s head of food innovation.

The evening kicked off spectacularly with DJ Mo Kelly on the decks. Guests sampled an array of exquisitely presented and lip-smackingly delicious canapés while sipping pretty pink cocktails created specifically for the event.

Then guests took their seats to hear IMAGE fashion director Marie Kelly and Avoca marketing director Maoliosa Connell chat through six key looks from the brand’s current collection. The presentation was immediately greeted by admiring oohs and aahs from the audience as the first model strode out in a beautifully feminine floral-print wrap dress by London label Primrose Park. Impeccably tailored utility trousers, the perfect lightweight summer knit, a dreamy cashmere and wool-blend coat and the quintessential summer dress were all part of the offering.

Next IMAGE digital editor Dominique McMullan took to the stage to talk all things food with Andrea Carydias, head of food innovation. The message was one of quality, care, consideration and of course, flavour. These are, of course, the core values at the heart of the Avoca brand, both in its food and fashion buy.

Guests left at the end of this gorgeous evening with a goodie bag packed full of Avoca treats and two lucky winners took home the covetable prizes of a €150 Avoca voucher and brunch for two to the value of €75. On a beautiful spring evening, this event certainly got everyone in the mood for a season of terrific fashion and food from one of Ireland’s best-loved brands.
