Tonight is the night! 7 reasons why we can’t wait for IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2019

With the IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards taking place in just a few hours time, excitement is seriously building. Here are seven reasons why we can’t wait for this year’s ceremony

Taking place at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road on November 25, this year’s IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards promises to be the best one yet. Here are seven reasons why we can’t wait.

British Vogue‘s Alexandra

We are delighted to announce that former editor-in-chief of British Vogue, Alexandra, will be co-presenting on the night.

During her time at Vogue from 1992 to 2017, she was awarded BSME Editor of the Year, PPA Editor of the Year 2016, the WGSN Future 2016 Outstanding Achievement award, and she was granted an OBE in the 2005 New Year’s honours for her services to the magazine industry.

She is a contributor to The Times, Daily Mail, Guardian and Daily Telegraph and has written two novels: Can We Still Be Friends? (2012) and The Parrots (2015). Inside Vogue: The Diary of my 100th Year was published by Fig Tree in October 2016, and in July 2017, Alexandra announced her new monthly column with Business of Fashion.

What’s more, Alexandra continues to influence women in both the UK and abroad and has recently collaborated with No7. Given the IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards is a night of glamour, we think she’s the perfect fit.

Alexandra will co-present the awards alongside our very own Group Contributing Editor, Melanie Morris.

Cocktail reception

Monday evening will commence with a luxurious cocktail reception from 6:30 pm. This year, nominees and guests will be treated to an array of tasty beverages, including offerings from Dingle Gin and bubbles from Marks & Spencer.

The black-tie reception is a wonderful opportunity for nominees and guests to let their hair down ahead of the ceremony. Not only will they be provided with delicious drinks, but our professional photographer will also be on-hand to capture each moment.

Networking opportunity

As the venue will be teeming with successful and motivated business people from all over Ireland, it’s an excellent time for guests to network.

You never know who might be sitting at the next table, or how beneficial a contact they might be. That’s the joy of our Businesswoman of the Year Awards – we’re celebrating everyone’s recent achievements, but the night could lead to so much more.

Dinner

After all that mingling and networking, we’ll all be ready to sit down and indulge in a scrumptious dinner.

We are working closely with the culinary team at the Clayton Hotel and putting together a delicious menu for all to feast on.

Prizes and surprises

We can’t wait to give out some lust-worthy prizes on the night – and of course, as always with IMAGE, we’ll have lots of other treats in store on the night too.

Lifetime Achievement award

We’re extremely excited to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Linda Kiely – a Cork native who co-founded Voxpro with her husband Dan.

Linda is a strategic, multi-award-winning businesswoman with over 20 years’ experience, and she has steered Voxpro from a six-person team in Cork City to more 6,500-plus team members around the world.

Celebrate

Can you believe that this is our 13th year celebrating Irish women in business? What a 13-years it’s been.

For more than a decade, we have gathered with some of the most influential women in Ireland – awarding their innovation, entrepreneurship, tenacity and success. The aim has never been about ‘the bottom line’, but rather each woman’s incredible ability to make an impact in her industry while inspiring those around her.

We’ve heard stories of resilience, courage and creativity. We’ve laughed, we’ve cheered and sometimes even cried happy tears.

With all this in mind, we can’t wait to continue this tradition of women-supporting-women on Monday, November 25.
