IMAGE Business Summit 2020: Meet powerhouse speakers Dr Anita Sands and author Gina Miller

We are proud to celebrate women in business by relaunching our Business Summit, taking place virtually on November 18 and 19. The virtual event will feature key industry leaders like global tech and business expert Dr Anita Sands and businesswoman, activist and author Gina Miller.

This has been one of the hardest years yet for business owners. Lockdown restrictions and global instability have forced many to temporarily close up shop while they learn to navigate a very different climate.

To help guide struggling businesses, we’ve organised the virtual event of the year — our Business Summit, in partnership with PwC, on November 18 and 19.

The agenda is packed full with experienced speakers discussing how to navigate the current crisis via panel discussions, master classes and lectures.

One of the event’s biggest highlights will be hearing from board director and global tech tycoon Dr Anita Sands and dynamic author and activist Gina Miller.

Meet Dr Anita Sands

If you’re in the technology sphere, you’ve most likely heard of Dr Anita Sands.

A board director, a Forbes.com contributor, a public speaking champion and a mother of six, Dr Sands has never met a challenge she can’t conquer.

With a wide-ranging background, holding a Ph.D. in atomic and molecular physics and a Master’s in public policy and management, she spent 10 years in financial services becoming the Chief Operating Officer of UBS Wealth Management Americas at just 33 years old.

Now, her focus has shifted to Silicon Valley and her current portfolio boards include five major companies — Service Now, Pure Storage, iStar, ThoughtWorks and NuBank.

Dr Sands speaks at business conferences around the world and, as part of Propel Performance Group, advises leaders and organisations on how to perform and succeed in uncertainty and continuous disruption.

She’s championed as a unique thinker, bringing a fresh perspective and energy to everything she does, and we can’t wait to hear her speak at this year’s Business Summit.

Giving an address titled ‘Lessons from a leader’, the businesswoman will share thoughtful and practical insights on the growing influence of technology, the future of work, the power of belonging and leadership in times of ambiguity and change.

Meet Gina Miller

The virtual event’s keynote speaker will be entrepreneur and activist Gina Miller.

To call Miller tenacious would be an understatement. She has led multiple campaigns against Brexit, taking the government to court and winning twice.

With a background in law, she frequently fights against modern day slavery, pension reform, and responsible capitalism. She also co-founded SCM Direct, a wealth management and investment company born out of the financial crisis, which advocates for transparency and ethical investment.

Her book, Rise: Life Lessons in Speaking Out, Standing Tall & Leading the Way, calls for this corporate transparency on a worldwide scale as well as discussing social justice and politics.

With a life of fighting injustice and challenging power, Gina will discuss social equality and justice, resilience and dealing with failure, and finding one’s voice at this year’s Business Summit.

She will look at the intersection between business, politics and the influence of the wider society, considering matters like corporate transparency, financial scrutiny, political reformation and safeguarding.

If you’d like to attend Dr Anita Sands and Gina Miller’s talks, you can register for our IMAGE Business Summit now. They are just two of the many talented and experienced speakers we have scheduled for our virtual event of the year.

The virtual IMAGE Business Summit, in partnership with PwC, takes place from Wednesday, November 18 at 10am to Thursday November 19, 2020, at 5pm.
