Three new bronzers for every skin tone

Three new bronzers for every skin tone

Meet the new generation of high powered bronzers

Do you use bronzer? Why not! Why are so many living in fear of it? Do you not know that we are living in the Golden Age of beauty products?

Foundation looks like your skin now, dry shampoo actually cleans your hair now and the carrot coloured stripes of chalky bronzer you used once when you were 14 and put away forever has evolved.

There is a bronzer now for everyone. Yes, you, pale person who thinks bronzer will make them orange. Yes, you, person anywhere on the deeper end of the shade spectrum who thinks bronzer doesn’t apply to them. Everything you thought you knew about bronzer is over: they are no longer packed with iridescent glitter that makes you reflect light like a disco ball. They are not talcy, nor do they leave your face powdered or with a visible layer of peach fuzz. And they are certainly no longer carrot coloured.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, €50

Take the new Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, €50, available from charlottetilbury.com on May 21, encased, as ever, in an old Hollywood glamour compact. The queen of glow has created four matte shades of bronzer in Fair, Medium, Tan and Deep that gives a sunny glow that lasts all day for every skin tone. Airbrush Bronzer is infused with hyaluronic acid, so though it’s matte, it never leaves the skin feeling dry. If application has always been your issue with bronzer, take Charlotte’s tips: “Create angles on the face along the temples, cheekbones and jawline, to instantly add definition – don’t forget to blend, blend, blend!”

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream, €45

Not entirely sold on a matte bronzer? Meet Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream, €45, coming this summer. It’s a lightweight and gel-cream bronzer that is incredibly soft, so no muddy stripes. The gel texture becomes one with the skin to generously blur any dodgy application by an unskilled hand, so you really can’t go wrong. The result is a sheer glow, a warmed up complexion and lots of dewiness.

Clarins Sunkissed Bronzing Powder, €44

If you like to alter your bronzer shades depending on what state your tan is on any given day, the new Clarins Sunkissed Bronzing Powder, €44, launches at the end of this month. It has three different matte shades that can be swirled around together for a stronge, deep glow or used separately for paler days. It comes enriched with a formula that keeps moisture on the surface of the skin so your skin stays feeling moisturised.
