Ready to switch up your make-up bag for summer? Here are the tinted moisturisers to see you through the warmer weather
Tinted moisturisers are the throw-on dress of summer beauty essentials; you can always rely on them, the right one will suit everyone and they’ll see you through the warm weather. Looking for a lighter texture to see you through to September? These are tinted moisturisers everyone can agree on.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, €48
Rarely has a product remained the leader in a beauty category for as long as Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser has held the crown in natural coverage. With it’s launch in 1996, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser introduced the world to the category of a tinted moisturiser, and though there have been many imitations since, there has been no brand with a tinted moisturiser as universally loved. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser now comes in 20 shades and is packed with hydrating oils (macadamia and kukui seed) which leave you looking dewy all day while evening out dryness. There’s also been a rise in the level of broad-spectrum sun protection, now at SPF30, instead of 20. There’s been an exciting addition of vitamin C and E, which work in harmony together as antioxidants, defending the skin from pollution. Though the news of a reformulation last October caused some panic (why mess with perfection?), it’s the same sheer but buildable, glowy, dewy coverage you know and love, just with better ingredients and a wider shade range.

Meet Nars Tinted Glow Boosters, €39, here to boost your skin’s glow. Light-catching coloured pearls in the formula give your skin radiance and pearly yellow and beige pigments give a non-ashy, golden shimmer and lustrous finish to your grey face. Your complexion is enhanced, with smoother skin, blurred imperfections and pores, plus jojoba elixir and gel in the formula give long-term, locked-in hydration to the skin that gives it a dewy, sheer luminosity. Best of all, it will extend the wear of your make-up for up to 16 hours, so as the temperature rises, your dewy glow will stand firm. I’ve yet to meet a BareMinerals product I haven’t loved, including Complexion Rescue, €32, which in the UK, is the number one bestseller of all tinted moisturisers. I’d say that has a lot to do with the fact that it’s the favourite foundation choice of both Hailey Bieber and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
