Meet The Award-Winning Team Behind Davey Davey Hair Salon

Feeling confident in your appearance plays a big part in how good you feel on the inside, and at Davey Davey hair salons based in Dublin, this is what they strive to do; to make you look great so that you feel great. ?They aim to be creative, yet commercial; working closely with clients to bring out their individuality. “The shape of an individual’s face, their hair type, the lifestyle they lead and their occupation all play a role in defining a unique style for a client,” according to award-winning salon owners, Ian and Paul Davey.

Paul and Ian started their journey working for one of Ireland’s leading Hairdressing franchise groups and 15 years later (after building a loyal following), decided to branch out and start their own very successful salons aptly named Davey Davey. Combining an impressive 35 years in the hairdressing trade and multi award-winning accolades, the salon is now the go-to place for fashion designers, models, and style-savvy celebrities. If that wasn’t enough, their space isn’t just a designer set-down space for your locks; there’s always something going on in their surroundings; from lunchtime gigs and more.

They have also worked with many a famous face (and had their work featured in the UK’s and Ireland’s top fashion magazines) including?Christian Bale, Emma Thompson, Kimberley Stewart, Laura Whitmore, Izabella Scorupco, Mumford and Sons, Temper Trap, La Roux and they were also the official hairdressers of the Irish Film and Television Awards 2011-2013.

IMAGE.ie sat down with the boys to get the lowdown on how they’re handling their success and the hair trends to look out for this autumn/winter:

Your salon is quite different in that it also hosts lots of different events and concerts, why did you decide to do this?

Stephen St Salon

We wanted to set the salon apart from others in the area. As part of the creative quarter, we initiated the gigs and special evenings to not only give our customers a treat but to also combine different artistry such as makeup, music, food and of course hairdressing .. a mini Electric Picnic!

What hair trends can we expect for AW16?

For AW16, we’ll be long braiding and doing lots of messy ponytails. We are super excited to announce that this autumn we are stocking Balmain Hair (a luxurious real hair).

What’s the most requested hair style?

The most requested hair style in our salon is still the lob. Hairstyle varies between the messy beachy, wavy hair to the high-polish sleek long bob. What sets this hair apart is the ombre colouring technique. Our specialist, Stephen Boyle spends most of his day attending to these looks.

What’s been a career highlight so far?

We have many career highlights; our job offers huge diversity which allows us to tap into day-to-day salon work and the creative aspect of session fashion shows and photography shoots. Highlight would be working backstage at London Fashion Week as it’s a thrill to work with with so many creative people.

Who is your hair idol?

Eugene Souleiman; a super creative inspirational hairdresser based in London who has worked with famous labels like?Gucci and Prada.

Davey Davey offers multiple specialist hair styles from Balayage to Ombre, hair extensions, organic colouring and creative cutting techniques. They also ?now stocking brands such as?Juan, Balmain Hair, Moroccan Oil and a variety of Kerastase L’Oreal products. For more information please check out www.daveydavey.com
