Inside the daily beauty wellness routines of IMAGE staffers: make-up edition

Making a moment for yourself in the day is so important, and beauty offers a daily ritual that’s entirely about you. Whether that’s applying your red lipstick before work, making room for yoga or even taking a second to do nothing but focusing on cleansing at the end of the day, our beauty rituals are something we never miss.

Here, in partnership with L’Oréal Paris, IMAGE staffers share the tiny mindful beauty moments that wake us up, wind us down or get us moving each day.

L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Shine Lipstick, €13.85

For me, self-care is about doing something that makes you feel good. I could do yoga, go for a bath or put on a layer of fake tan but the quickest and easiest thing is red lipstick. It will cheer you up on a bad day, and make even the greasiest of hair or the sloppiest of outfits look presentable. It is a mindful thing to do as an act of perfectly lining your lips takes a little time. After liner, I finish with the perfect shade of matte red lippy and instantly feel amazing. – Hannah Hillyer, office manager and staff writer.
L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Mascara, €14.95
Taking a moment to wash my day off with a foamy body wash, to check in with myself while I slather my legs in body butter and to bolster myself through a tough day with a spritz of my favourite perfume are all valid ways I take time for just me every day. But thanks to the nature of the times we’re living in, I am more likely do all these with one eye on my emails and one thumb scrolling through Instagram. I know, we can all afford to not be refreshing constantly in the time it takes to apply a serum, but here we are. There is but one beauty product I will always have to switch off for, but will forever rely on; mascara. Specifically, L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Mascara, which I apply, like the rest of my make-up, on the train, with one eye on emails and one hand on a coffee. But when it comes to applying mascara on the train, full concentration is required lest you wish to lose an eye. L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Mascara opens my eyes right up when they still feel glued shut and curls and coats every lash to perfect definition but more importantly, it gives me a minute for just me. – Holly O’Neill, junior beauty editor.
L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation, €15.39
My favourite part of my day is in the morning when I’m doing my makeup. There’s nothing I love more than taking that time for myself. I put on the radio, get a cup of coffee and completely relax because for some reason, doing my make-up instantly calms me. L’Oréal Paris True Match foundation is my go-to and applying it gives me the pick me up I need at 6 am. – Edaein O’Connell, staff writer.
