Hotel toiletries: The dream brands to find in your bathroom

Hotel toiletries: The dream brands to find in your bathroom

I go full Ross Geller from Friends when it comes to hotel toiletries, but alas, not all bathroom goodies were created equal. Here are some of the dreamiest ones anyone can stumble upon while holed up in a hotel…

One of the first things I do when I arrive to a hotel room is check the standard of the toiletries. If I see any of the brands listed below, I’m one happy hotel guest.

My guidelines as to how best to handle a nice selection of toiletries?

Step 1:

Pack away at least 50% of them. Then the housekeeping staff will replenish and you can pack away more. Cheeky, yes. Allowed? Also yes.

Step 2:

Take more baths and showers than you would ever normally take. I recommend at least three in 24 hours, just to be sure you luxuriate enough. Multiple washes is key here.

Step 3:

With your hotel haul, squirrel away the travel minis for the next time you’ve got guests, and impress them with your high end toiletries. It’ll be like you’re running your own boutique hotel. Win!

Le Labo

I love their fragrances, so their toiletries help me scent layer. The dream. There’s nothing getting left behind here – I’m going full Red Ross when I see Le Labo anything.

Acqua di Parma

I was lucky enough to stay in Adare Manor recently (the best hotel I’ve ever, ever stayed in) and they had the most gorgeous set of Acqua di Parma goodies. I was in heaven.

Malin+Goetz

New York brand Malin+Goetz’ products are usually found in slightly hipster city centre hotels around Europe. I ADORE their peppermint shampoo and vitamin B5 moisturiser.

Elemis

The spa brand do absolutely spectacular mini toiletries for hotels, they usually do their Revitalise Me range, so ideal for work trips where you’re doing long hours and need a boost.
