Hairstylist Danielle Garner’s standout AW18 hair trends

Irish hairstylist Danielle Garner of Wildflower Creative Studio in Ranelagh has assisted backstage at Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Nina Ricci, and Etro – all in the last season. In the October issue of IMAGE, on shelves this Friday, she talked HOLLY O’NEILL through her must-have products for autumn and the voluminous looks she assisted Guido Palau in creating for Valentino Couture. Here, she guides us through the AW18 hair trends to love and experiment with.

Danielle Garner’s ultimate AW18 hair trends…

The wavier wave

We’ve seen a lot of natural texture coming through season after season, but what I noticed this time around was that waves are starting at the very tip of the hair rather than ear level or below. This creates more of a beachy texture and allows the hair to bounce with movement. I helped create this look while assisting James Pecis at Etro AW18.

Simple embellishment

From simplistic ribbons at Simone Rocha to extremely embellished clips at Ashley Williams, headscarves at Versace and retro 1990s headbands at Prabal Gurung, accessorising the hair this season is going to be big and bold. I love it. I’m considering getting a little pick-a-mix of different accessories into my studio for clients to avail of for nights out.
