Desert Island Beauty Bag: What would Louise Cooney bring?

Desert Island Beauty Bag: What would Louise Cooney bring?

Fashion and lifestyle blogger Louise Cooney is heading on a hypothetical holiday to a remote desert island. She can bring as many (or as few) beauty products as she likes – providing they don’t exceed her €100 budget. So what will the Limerick-native choose, and more importantly, why?

MAC Strobe Cream 50ml

€34 from Brown Thomas

Louise says, “Skin is such an important part of a make-up look; strobe cream leaves my skin glowing and really fresh looking.” This particular cream is packed with green tea and vitamins, giving life to dull and tired-looking skin. It brightens the face and makes it glow under sunlight – so it’s perfect for a desert island beauty bag!

YSL The Shock Mascara For False Lash Effect

€29 from Debenhams

“The Shock mascara makes my lashes look so long and curly which really opens up my eyes and makes them look bigger,” Louise says. This mascara, available in black, burgundy and blue, is great for adding volume. It gives you a false lash effect quickly and easily – just one coat will do.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in ‘Nude Kate’

€30 from Brown Thomas

“This (dare I say it) is my favourite nude lipstick,” Louise reveals, so she couldn’t possibly leave home without it. The formula is infused with antioxidants to keep lips looking (and feeling) smooth and healthy, while its pale pink hues add a subtle femininity to your overall look.

Total spend €93 – right within budget

But, as we all know, life is about more than just beauty. So if Louise could bring just one additional luxury item, she says it would have to be, “A boat – so I can get back to the real world.

“A desert island sounds great, but not if I’m by myself with only three beauty products. I’d go back to Ireland, grab a few friends (and my full makeup/skincare bag). I’d pick up some cocktail ingredients and then we’d all head back to the island together.”

We like your style, Louise.
