Five of the best active vitamin C skin products

While skin ingredients may come and go, vitamin C has long been hailed as a solution for anti-ageing and gorgeous, glowing skin. Here are five of the best active vitamin C products worth trying according to MELANIE MORRIS.

Kiehl’s Powerful- Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, €56

This well-established hero has been improved with a higher percentage of vitamin C (12.5%). Two forms, ascorbic acid, and ascorbyl glucoside hit the skin in different ways, delivering immediate and longer-term benefits, while the addition of hyaluronic acid hydrates and plumps up the outer layers.

Vitamin C

Juliette Armand Elements Forte C, €33 Vitamin C, 12% of content

This product is stored in powder form in the darkened canister to keep it most active. Once this canister is mixed with the 10ml of liquid solution beneath, start using daily for ten days for a radiance boost and to even out skin tone.

Vitamin C

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster 7-Day System, €34 Vitamin C

This stays active in powder formula until opened and inserted into the booster. A fresh delivery every day for seven days perks up stressed skin. Great before a holiday, or after stressed skin moments.

Vitamin C

SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, €150

The first serum to crack vitamin C stability, and the one many dermatologists recommend. Here, the vitamin C is bonded to ferulic acid (iron) to stabilise its volatility and increase antioxidant properties. There’s also added vitamin E, which works synergistically for boosted skin benefits.

Vitamin C

Vichy LiftActiv Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector, €36

Newly launched and very similar to sister brand SkinCeuticals’ CE Ferulic, this formula contains an impressive 15% vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to improve the complexion. The small 10ml size makes this a handy, budget-friendly way to get glowing.
