A Real Enchanted Garden Party Wedding

A Real Enchanted Garden Party Wedding

Until recently, Irish people didn’t really have weddings in their own gardens; that was only for Americans… in the filims. But the Irish wedding industry has changed an awful lot in the last five years. A flourishing and diverse base of creative event suppliers means that the options for Irish couples, who want a bespoke wedding, have never been broader. And suddenly turning your parents’ lawn into a wedding reception space doesn’t seem quite so crazy; in fact, it’s looking like a winning option, if you really want the scope of your event’s individuality to be boundless. For Andrea Ryan and Rob Greene, an enchanted garden party at Andrea’s parents’ Dublin home was the dream, but as a pair of accountants based in London, pulling it together meant they needed a woman on the ground.

Salt‘s Jen Power worked as their event stylist and is emphatic that the soul of this wedding was that it happened in a place that meant so much to the couple. “Andrea’s mum Kathryn had the most gorgeous flowers planted, where the drinks reception was held. Guests entered through a perfumed garden of blooms, to be greeted with champagne and canap’s.

This was a black tie event, but so relaxed and so special.” Lots of clever installations gave the garden its festival vibe, with food and drinks stations dotted around (whiskey cocktails were served in the greenhouse, oh yes) and a bespoke light installation, built especially for the couple by their friends in Cine Electric and adorned with ivy by The Garden. This wedding was glam, refined and so very beautiful, but you can just tell that no one felt they had to stand on ceremony here. A wedding well done, we’d say.
