Game Of Thrones’s Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Are Engaged

Game of Thrones fans around the world have gotten what they wished for. I haven’t seen up to the current final episode of the series as yet but I do know what became of?Jon Snow and Ygritte – and if you don’t, look away now – and that the real-life?love story of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie (who play the pair on-screen) is a far happier affair.

Their GOT romance was ill-fated but in life, it seems they were destined to be together as the couple has announced – in a very old-school, low-key way – that they are to be married. We hope for a white wedding as opposed to the infamous red one from the show, mind.

And on this cold and rainy day, TV fanatics will know that nothing warms the soul quite like a beloved on-screen couple falling in love in life and then getting a happy ending. The couple met in 2012 while filming the HBO series and ?Harington’told?L’Uomo Vogue?last year it was ?easy? to fall in love as they did. He said his best ever memory of the show was the three weeks in Iceland when they filmed the second season that year.

“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,? said Harington.

?If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.?

The couple, who adorably ‘announced’ their engagement in The Times newspaper has always been very low-key and this is a testament?to the that this is a time for themselves and not a time to work the celebrity PR machine into overdrive. (Take note, entire Kardashian family).

Listed in the ?Forthcoming Marriages? section, the announcement read simply: ?The engagement is announced between Kit, youngest son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.?

No ravens needed.
