Tried and tested: the world’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner

Tried and tested: the world’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner

I wasn’t just impressed by the power of Samsung’s Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, but its clever features also make it incredibly easy to use.

I may as well be honest: I do not enjoy vacuuming my home. It feels that as soon as the task is done, what seems like mere moments later it’s suddenly time to do it again. Having  a dog who sheds white hairs all over the place certainly doesn’t help, but I know that plenty of people feel the same way.

Part of my problem is also that my own vacuum cleaner feels like such a chore to even take out of the cupboard. It’s heavy, I have to drag it along behind me and unplug and plug it in constantly as it reaches the end of its cord. Which is why when I was given the opportunity to try out Samsung’s latest release, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, I was definitely intrigued.

Not only is it the world’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner, with up to 400W of suction power (perfect for lifting all those pesky dog hairs), its clever Clean Station is an all-in-one dock which not only empties the vacuum cleaner – saving you the messy job – but also charges it. You just click it in neatly, and it will whirr to empty its contents and then start charging, with a screen at the top to tell you the battery percentage.

When I first unboxed the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, I was a little intimidated by the array of pieces and attachments, but it couldn’t have been simpler to set up. And once I had the Clean Station ready to go, with a bag inside that can simply be lifted out when full, it was time to try it out.

The machine itself wasn’t heavy at all to use, which I loved, and it’s easy to turn on and off. You can choose from different suction powers, depending on the surface you’re cleaning, or allow its AI Cleaning mode to choose the correct suction itself. With everything from tiles, to wooden floors, to quite thick carpet that my own vacuum cleaner struggles with in my home, I was able to test it out on lots of different surfaces, and it coped perfectly with them all. The three brushes also make it easy to adapt to different floor surfaces – I found myself using the Pet Tool+ a lot, which was great at picking up dog hair on carpet. I also loved the Slim Action LED Brush+ which was perfect for hard floors, and a light highlights dust so you don’t miss anything.

As well as this, it’s surprisingly flexible, you can use it almost completely upright, or totally horizontal, which is great for getting under furniture and into hard to reach spots. The brush heads are easy to click on and off when you’re changing them, and they even have a little dock to hold them when they’re not in use.

The battery life was great, with the main battery lasting for up to 100 minutes, and a smaller second battery is also included that lasts up to 60 minutes. A display on the vacuum lets you know how many minutes of cleaning you have left (this will depend on what level of power you’re using), so you’re not left with a machine that stops working just as you’re nearly finished.

This screen will also let you know if there are any issues, such as an object stuck in the brush, or if a filter needs to be cleaned. No need to start guessing what’s wrong if it’s not working as normal.

As well as the self-emptying function being so clean and easy to use, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra also has a multi-layered filtration system so that even tiny dust particles stay where they’re supposed to. For me, the self-emptying is my favourite feature – emptying my current vacuum cleaner, it can feel like you’re releasing some of the dust back into the air, but the dock means it’s totally hands-off. I also enjoyed that the dock meant the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra was ready to go at any moment, you just lift it off and press a button to turn it on – no need to start finding a plug and messing around with cords.

Overall, I was really impressed with not only its cleaning performance, but also how easy it is to use – something that’s so important for an appliance like this which you have to use regularly. I found myself whizzing around with it much more frequently than I would with my normal machine, as it was so effortless to use. It’s definitely one I would recommend to anyone investing in a new vacuum cleaner.

The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is available from samsung.com, and leading electrical retailers.
