This Young Irish Blogger Shares Her June Favourites From Paris

Dublin-born Ellen Keating works at PreCouture in Paris, an exclusive pre-order website where you can purchase runway collections and shop luxury brands. Here she shares her June favourites from Paris.?

THIS MONTH I’M ENJOYING;

June

PEOPLE WATCHING

I’m very lucky to live just minutes away from the Jardin du Luxembourg. You never know who or what you might see, from the everyday jogger and walker to karate practice and meditation groups.

SWOONING OVER

Parisian chic. Messy, yet coiffed hair and a slick of red lipstick make for perfect finishing touches to an ensemble of vintage Levi’s, a relaxed button-down blouse, and square toe pumps.

EATING

I’m a morning worshipper, and so love going out for breakfast. The Strada Cafe? offers a formule petit de?jeuner, a typical French breakfast of crumbly croissants, butter and jam-laden tartines, plus freshly squeezed orange juice – a great kickstart to any day!

EXPLORING

One of the wonderful things about Paris is that you can pretty much walk everywhere – each street is prettier than the next. Rue Gabrielle is a favourite. For a sunny ramble around the city, I like to first head to Canal Saint-Martin, then stroll along with a coffee from Ten Belles in the direction of the original Isabel Marant store on Rue de Charonne, where I will blissfully drool over all the beautiful pieces before refuelling at L?As du Fallafel for a not-so-typical, but oh-so-mouthwatering repas.

ESCAPING THE CITY

The 20th arrondissement is home to Pe’re Lachaise Cemetery, where Oscar Wilde is buried, along with other famous names, such as E’dith Piaf and Chopin. It wasn’t until after I had left the cemetery that I realised just how peaceful it was there … You just seem to get caught up in your own little world.

SHOPPING

There is nothing quite like shopping the Parisian brands in their home city. From Sandro to Claudie Pierlot and Iro, the choice is endless. For those who prefer more unique, vintage pieces, Kiliwatch Paris on Rue Tiquetonne is a great stop, or venture to Rue des Martyrs, where you will find a delightful selection of second-hand shops.
