Sometimes it’s hard to get enough protein in to your diet and these nutella protein balls are such a delicious way to sneak some more in. They only take a few minutes to make and are full of protein and magnesium making them the ideal post workout treat! They’re incredible if you’re in the mood for something a little more indulgent without the guilt.
- Pour boiling water over the dates and leave the to soak for about 5 minutes. Dry roast the hazelnuts at 180’C for about 10 minutes. Then rub them around in a clean kitchen towel to remove any of the loose shells.
- Add the hazelnuts and dates to your blender and blitz until they break down, combine and then start to clump together.
- Then add in the protein and cacao powder and blitz until it starts to get crumbly and then clump together again. Make sure to scrape down the sides a few times so that it blends evenly.
- Use your hands to squish and roll the mixture into balls. I made balls that were quite big (about golfball size) so I got 8 out of the mixture, if you make smaller ones you could get 10-12.
