Genius Life Hacks To Make You Feel Good – Part III

The key to living better and healthier for longer could be simpler than you think. Follow the final segment of our tips (part I is here and part II is here), diet swaps and social media upgrades that’ll make a genuine difference to the quality of your life.

21. RISE EARLY

Make an effort to get out of bed by 6am in summer. Go for a short walk or simply sit outside and enjoy your morning cuppa in peace and quiet. There’s something enlightening about being up and awake before everybody else.

22. MAKE EXERCISE YOUR NEW WAY OF SOCIALISING

?Instead of going for a coffee catch-up, where you are surrounded by sugary temptations,? says Jen Feighery. ?Organise to meet up in the park or at the beach, where you can go for an energising walk or run and chat.?

23.?START SMART

Feighery believes what you put into your body first thing in the morning determines how your energy levels fluctuate throughout the day. ?Always ensure your breakfast is high in protein and low in sugar. Avoid the habit of just having a coffee for your breakfast.?

24. DRINK LEMON JUICE

Add a slice of citrus into a glass of warm water daily. Packed with vitamins, lemon aids digestion, reduces inflammation, cleanses your palate and detoxes body and skin.

25.?WORK OUT TOO HARD? CHOW DOWN ON GINGER

If you overdid it on your gym workout, try eating ginger. Researchers at the University of Georgia found that consuming 2g of raw or heat-treated ginger per day can reduce post-workout muscle soreness by 25 per cent, thanks to its anti-inflammatory compounds and oils called gingerols that have shown painkilling and sedative effects. Add some to your tea, stir-fries or juice.
