Head On Down to Dublin’s One-Stop Shop for Top Irish Design

Fox print by Chief Rabbit

Love Irish design? You seriously can’t afford to miss tomorrow’s gathering of Ireland’s coolest creatives and craftspeople at Dublin’s Show & Tell…

A one-day design destination for cultured Dubliners, Show & Tell is aptly named for its combination of inspirational design talks – speakers include Gavin Prendergast of Urban Picnic, Andrea Horan from Tropical Popical, Clare Grennan of the Irish Design Shop, Avril Stanley of Body & Soul, and Tara Prendergast of Biscuit – as well as delectable design-led Christmas stalls.

The fair celebrates Ireland’s contemporary design scene, so forget felt hats and Claddagh rings; tomorrow’s line-up of speakers and designers is guaranteed to leave you brimming with inspiration and knowledge (and more than a few festive gifts). Entry is free and, best of all, an opportunity to show off your insider Christmas present-sourcing skills while supporting up-and-coming designers.

Headliners include… Hey Bulldog Design. The cool upcycling couple have transformed the way we view salvaged materials. Their furniture continues to delight and bring a smile to our faces with their playful yet practical designs. We’ve ticked off the hairpin coffee table and are currently coveting their ‘batch of trivets’.

Stencilize. Aoife Hanrahan’s (recently featured on Buzzfeed) standout geometric, urban style is punctuated with punchy colours and printed onto paper, clothes and home items, and all her wares make for fantastic presents.

Also keep an eye our for stalls featuring some of our favourites, who’ve popped up in past issues: Snug, Christina Keogh, Fuchsia MacAree and The Cupcake Bloke. Hot new tip: check out Chief Rabbit‘s cool contemporary prints, a fun and funky alternative to wallpaper (see their foxy fox print, main image, above).
