Previously engaged in large-scale outdoor print and textile instillations, Aoife has long been influenced by architectural spaces. This newly launched collection focuses on the Dublin 8 area, particularly the stretch of road between Mount Brown in Kilmainham and Thomas Street, the artist’s daily route.

Chosen for having a certain?lonely quality about their appearance, the buildings or architectural features were photographed, then digitally printed in a variety of dense patterns. It’s moving to see these?forgotten spaces to find a new home in this homewares collection.

Aoife contrasts the angular architectural imagery with organic hand-drawn marks, creating a truly contemporary feel throughout the series. The five designs have all been hand-moulded, digitally printed, hand-painted, glazed, then fired in Fire Station Artists’ Studios in Dublin.
