Say buon giorno to the latest post-war pieces to join the Cross Collection?

The Italians came later than the Scandinavians to the modern design aesthetic that dominated post-war Western homes. Yet they have a prized reputation for artistry since, well, Roman times, so naturally they mastered the style in no time.

Forget the Joey Tribbiani-esque ?fine Italian craftsmanship?; these pieces are top-quality designer-made items (one work attributed to Carlo di Carli, pictured above), handpicked by Cross Gallery owner Nicholas Gore-Grimes. Nicholas had his first professional foray into the world of furniture in New York, before coming back to open the renowned Dublin gallery at just 23. So you know he knows his stuff.

Pop down to Francis Street for a coffee and a look around. Arrangements can be made to see the pieces in your own home (good luck letting them go, though!). Click through the gallery above for some of our favourite pieces.
