After Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolos that went missing at a children’s party in season six of Sex and the City, Cinderella’s glass slippers are perhaps the most famous pair of shoes in popular culture history. With the upcoming release of Disney’s live action remake of Cinderella next month, on March 13th, there will be even further focus on the footwear that made a serving girl into a princess. So of course Disney spied an opportunity for a tie-in collection with the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue, wwd.com reports.

Designers Jimmy Choo, Charlotte Olympia, Stuart Weitzman, Salvatore Ferragamo, Nicholas Kirkwood, Alexandre Birman, Paul Andrew. Ren? Caovilla, and Jerome C. Rousseau?have all been recruited to reinterpret the romantic glass slipper with some fabulous results.

While genuine glass has thankfully been left off the menu, there is plenty of eye-catching splendour on show in the above gallery of sketches Disney unveiled this week. We believe the words you are looking for are ‘swit swoo?. The slipper in the movie itself has been produced by Swarovski, and all the crystals in the Disney and Saks project also come from the company.

We’re totally in love with the Jimmy Choo pair; although with heels that high maybe it makes sense to abandon the stilettos come midnight.

Prince Charming who?

Cinderella hits cinemas March 13th and the Saks collection will be available in Saks as well as the designers? boutiques and Harrods, Galeries Lafayette, Excelsior Milano, Tsum, Isetan Shinjuku, and in the shoe district of? the Dubai Mall.
