What is Rihanna up to?

09th Aug 2014

In today’s #RihannaWatch speculation mounts as the singer trademarks her name…

Rihanna find herself in the headlines yet again, only this time she taking over the business pages after the singer filed trademark documents in her surname, Fenty. According to Swagger New York, Rihanna Fenty applied for trademark in the areas of apparel, lingerie and cosmetics. Some suggest this means Rihanna is about to launch her own fashion line. Vogue.co.uk however points out that celebrities often apply for trademark as a preventative measure, citing the case of Jay Z and Beyonc? securing Blue Ivy’s so no one would try make money off their daughter’s name.

While Rihanna has lent her name to designers in the past – Sophia Webster named a shoe after her – and colloborated with River Island and MAC’s Viva Glam collection, this could mark her first standalone design outing. While we think her potential dresses might be a bit too risqu? for Irish weather we have to say we suspect Rihanna would do amazing underwear. Probably not as functional as we’re used to, but you you can almost certainly be guaranteed her lingerie creations would be the sexiest barely taking up shelf space.
