The Judges have been announced for Kilkenny’s Best Dressed at the Galway Races – and these women know their dresses. This year RTE presenter Maura Derrane and Irish Independent & Weekend Magazine Fashion Editor Bairbre Power, our own Image Publications Editor-in-Chief Melanie Morris and local Catwalk Model Agency Owner Mandy Maher will all be casting their sartorial eyes over the parade of always fabulous women that descend upon the Galway Races.
This year’s sponsor of the Best Dressed Lady Competition is Kilkenny and we have to say there are a lot of of-course-nods around the office at their choice of celebrity judge. Maura Derrane’s reputation as a woman of impeccable taste is in no doubt as the host of RTE’s The Today Show. This Aran Islands native and mother to a one-year-old, Cal, always dresses is known for classic and elegant style – the perfect choice for this year’s Best Dressed judging panel
“I am thrilled to be judging Kilkenny’s Best Dressed Lady at the Galway races this year. Ladies’ day in Galway is so glamorous and great fun so I know I will be spoiled for choice when choosing a winner!” she said. “It’s great to see Kilkenny on board as the competition’s new sponsor; I love the fact that Kilkenny are passionate about support Irish so I’m hoping to see plenty of home-grown design at this year’s Ladies Day on July 30th!”
