Stylish Rain Jackets For Rainy Monday Mornings

You know winter has definitely arrived when you wake up at 7am, and it’s dark and wet outside. This morning, winter certainly made its presence felt. In the spirit of making these early and dreary starts a little easier to bear, I’ve rounded up some of the most stylish rain jackets available now. Walking in the rain is actually quite a nice experience when you’re appropriately (and stylishly) dressed for it. I think our street style star above needs to rethink her footwear …

This Zara jacket has a deeper shade of?camouflage, which’makes it’really wearable. It would work equally well over a navy pleated skirt as it would over a pair of jeans. Plus,?it’s a nice neat shape so?you’ll still feel super-smart whether you’re going to the office or a restaurant.

Rain capes remind me of my mother. When I was young, I thought they were totally naff, but now I think they’re a really chic way to stay dry. I’d layer this piece up with cosy, textured knits to give the overall look a bit more character.

I’ve never been a fan of trench coats, and I’ve never bought into the idea that they’re something every woman should own. More often than not, they look ill-fitting and a little bit generic. But this Massimo Dutti trench has caught my eye. In dark navy, it looks more military in style than Inspector Gadget. It’s also a mid-thigh length, which is generally more flattering than?knee-length or beyond.

There’s a lot of subtle detailing on this Bimba Y Lola coat that elevates it beyond a mere rain jacket. I love the utilitarian pocket on the left sleeve, the partly exposed zip and the two open-top front pockets. It has a very geometric, graphic look to it that I love. Very modern and definitely a timeless piece.
